Hoya naumannii is a beautiful Hoya species recognized for its attractive leaves and charming flowers.

Hoya naumannii is native to the Solomon Islands, an island nation located in Oceania, east of Papua New Guinea.

It was specifically found on the island of Bougainville (which is geographically part of the Solomon Islands archipelago but currently an autonomous region of Papua New Guinea). It grows at lower elevations in coastal forests within the wet tropical biome, indicating a preference for warm, humid conditions. It is an epiphytic vining plant, typically found climbing on trees.

Hoya naumannii was formally described by the German botanist Rudolf Schlechter (1872-1925). He published its description in 1908 in "Beiblatt zu den Botanischen Jahrbüchern" (Beibl. Bot. Jahrb. Syst. 92: 15).
