Hoya kaikoeana is native to Borneo, specifically found in the Kapuas Hulu region of West Kalimantan, Indonesia.
Hoya sp. 'Dahlia' is actually now formally recognized as Hoya kaikoeana. The "sp. Dahlia" was a provisional name given in cultivation before it was formally described and published.
